EmerchantsGroup discussed in money sector issue for small businesses on credit card fraud:
"Steven Allen, founder of eMerchantsGroup.com, an advocacy group of 500 retailers... merchants object to banks and payment-processing firms putting the onus on them to bear the brunt of Internet fraud."

Being risk averse (and therefore somewhat change averse) I held off on switching over from Paymentech. But the change was quick, seamless, painless, the rates are much better, and deposits are hitting my account in two days as opposed to the 5 to 7 days (best I could negotiate) with Paymentech. So far, so good after two months. - Lingerieavenue.com

5 out of 5 stars. A great way for merchants to save money and work together.
I just got my bill from the EMG merchant processing program and have to share, that it is now a joy to receive this bill since I am realizing such real, tangible, and substantial savings.
I have personally spoken with Steven, the founder of EMG, as well as a few of the other EMG members. They have all been tremendously professional and helpful. I thank Steven for the formation of a group that can utilize the power of collective bargaining for all of our benefit. I eagerly await the next offering.
I was very cautious in changing to the EMG, but decided to take the plunge since the benefits were so great. The reviews here from other successful business owners like Joe at The Ferret Store, and Brian at Sports Fanfare, just to name a few, helped me feel that I would be in good company when joining the EMG. Now that we belong, we couldn't be happier!
Our transferance to the EMG program was very simple, quick, and confidential. We received an Airborne Express package with all the needed documentation along with a prepaid return Airborne Express envelope.
Our transferance did not go off without one hitch. The Amex portion of our new merchant account originally was not setup. I tried to patiently wait, since the Yahoo store states that it could take a couple days for changes to propagate through the system. As it turned out, I had to call the merchant provider. Our account rep apologized and told us that it would be fixed within a couple days. It was fixed in just over 24 hours.
We have since had a handful of times that we needed to contact our account rep with one issue or another. She has always been professional, attentive, and very responsive to our questions. This has left me feeling very comfortable in knowing that it is a first class outfit that is serious about their merchants’ businesses and the level of satisfaction they have with their service. There has not been any unsolicited advice or sales pressure relabeled as ‘customer service’ from them. They are top notch.
I can confidently say that this offering has the lowest overall cost that you can find.
What has struck me the most about the EMG merchant account offering is that it is exactly as it is portrayed here in others reviews and the EMG Website. In a time when so many are using smoke and mirrors, or just trying to make you look one way, and swindle you the other, the EMG is a solid, intelligent deal. - John King, Yahoo Store owner.

I am a member of EMG and wanted to wait to be up and running awhile to give a fair review. So far everything is better than expected, service is wonderful, rates-they combined our in store sales to give us the lowest rate possible, deposit into accounts are fast. We are saving a lot of money and are very very happy. I am very grateful to EMG for the hard work they did to make this happen for our company. - Quincyshop.com

I have only had positive experiences with the EMG merchant account. I noticed a billing discrepancy on my most recent statement. Sent an email over to our account rep and the problem was fixed and fees that had been charged by mistake were refunded. No problems. No hassle. It was truly a pleasure to deal with them. If it had been Paymentech, I would have never seen the money. BOTTOM LINE (I can't emphasize this enough!): If you are still with Paymentech then you are hurting your business and your profits. Whatever you do, if you are using Paymentech, then SWITCH today! You can thank this group for their good advice and research by taking yourself out to dinner (and movie, and hotel, and plane fare, and...) with the money you'll save in the next 30 days alone. - Puttyworld.com

All paperwork and documents were overnighted to me with a return envelope to overnight them back. I signed a couple of documents and was setup within a couple of days. My account coordinator called me about 5 times to make sure everything was OK and setup correctly. She also did a test transaction with me to make sure. The rates have been unbelievable. You will save a $10-$15 per charge back---in addition to the .3% or so you are saving in processing fees. This is the IBM of Credit Card Processors. - Bizchair.com

We've been part of EMG for several months now and all I can say is THANK YOU! Many things have been said before and they're all true - it's a savings of money, it's easy to switch and the customer service we've received has been nothing but OUTSTANDING! I'm used to being at war with my credit card processor - this is more like a partnership where they actually CARE and WANT TO HELP. I had to disappoint them by not having any problems and not needing any help.

So far things are great and we are very happy to have switched. We just did our first batch and things went smoothly and the deposit was there on the 2nd day. The account rep. is great. I initially had a problem when logging in the TID/MID numbers and sent her an email. She immediately responded that she would take care of it and within a couple of hours had new numbers for me to try. Worked like a charm. I'm sure it would have been like pulling teeth to get this kind of service from our other merchant. Rates are great. The first statement has arrived and it was easy to read and definitely a savings. Looks like I'm ready to pay my closing fee to Wells Fargo. If you haven't joined this group you really need to look into it. Even if you have to pay to get out of your current merchant agreement, you will be paid back in no time and continue saving every month. - Afterthoughtsauto.com

Everything for us has been flawless on the Visa and Master Card services provided through EMG. You saved me some serious money, so thanks again. I'm also looking forward to beta testing the new UPS deal once it gets set up. - Chefknivestogo.com

I have been using the EMG merchant processor for almost 3 months and am very pleased with it. The excellent rates are coming through as agreed and there have been no customer service problems. My account is being funded the next day after I submit my batch and then Wells Fargo usually takes another day to show the credit. So I am seeing the funds in less then 48 hours and occasionally less then 24 hours. I’m a really low maintenance type of customer but when I do need customer service I want it quickly. The day of my first batch I called them and asked if they could set me up for gross deposit (to have fees paid separately). They made the change quickly enough that I received a gross deposit right from the first batch. When I call for service I am treated like a professional (for a change) and receive service from another competent professional. I hesitated signing up for the collective for a while because I was afraid of how I would be treated by Paymentech when I left. Would they hit me with a cancellation fee? Would they take a surprise security deposit for an indefinite period of time? Looking back it is ironic that canceling Paymentech was actually the only pleasant customer service experience I ever had with that company. Every collective derives its influence from the size of the membership. When you join you will benefit yourself and your fellow merchants. There are other advantages to be had through our combined influence and the collective has proven he is the type of guy that can get things done. Thanks. I look forward to being part of what’s next. - Jonathan

With EMG you definitely save money. I switched a month ago, and it is nice no to have to pay for any "extras" that other merchant accounts pad your bill with. No avs charges (and they sure add up!), no statement fees....I makes me feel I am having more control over my expenses. Unless you are a huge player (like Novica), negotiating a deal like this is a dream. Matter of point: one week after switching my stores, I received a call for Wells Fargo merchant service (I have been an account holder with Wells Fargo for over 6 years). I told the representative that I would not dream of switching unless they could offer something substantially better....I faxed them the terms of the e-collective for comparison. His initial offer did not even come close. After "negotiating" with his manager, he came up with an offer that did not eliminate the AVS charges. He, plain blankly, told me they could not eliminate those fees unless I made over 3 million a year, for each store! The reality of the credit card, banking and merchant industry is what we all suspected: they make a bundle nickel and dimming small business. Once a year, my accountant adds up all the fees we paid for wire transfers, ACH's, banking fees, merchant account fees, credit card interests, etc, etc, etc, and the amount is pretty, pretty considerable. Those are the expenses that any successful business man will try to eliminate. For the record: I was with Paymentech for two years (a nightmare), and with Bill for other two years (the service was OK; Bill is fantastic). EMG is better: faster deposits (24 hours for any transactions batched before 1:00PM EST!) and cheaper (saved over $220.00 this month). Those $220.00 served me better in Overture and Adwords….Thanks - Lapislazuliworld.com

We just switched both our stores to EMG. The switch was very painless. We don't process through Yahoo, so we left that alone. We process cards through Mail Order Manager. All it took was a call to MOM to change the merchant numbers, then to tell MOM's setup the new merchant #s. I ran a batch this morning, it worked flawlessly. Phew! - Chefsresource.com

We recently switched to EMG for our ystore merchant account, and are super pleased with the fast deposits, high level of service, and attractive rate structure. funds are deposited into our bank account about 24 hours after batch close. Our rep, has provided outstanding support (and we've had a few rather technical questions for her). These are best card processing rates I've seen (and we do check periodically). and if you count the elimination of the typical myriad garbage fees (a personal pet peeve), the $ savings -and the time savings in auditing statements- are awesome. I would encourage anyone who's on the fence or has been procrastinating to sign up. you don't even have to fill out the app (they fill it out for you). Thanks - Jack
